Referral Program

Invite friends — both get 30 days of free billing after their second successful payment.

How Referrals Work

ReachSurge's referral program rewards both you and the person you invite:

  1. Share your unique referral link — find it in SettingsReferrals
  2. Your friend signs up using your link
  3. They complete two billing cycles on a paid plan (i.e. their second renewal succeeds)
  4. Both of you get 30 days of free billing automatically pushed onto your subscriptions

The credit fires on your friend's second successful payment — about 30–37 days after they subscribe. This protects against fraud (signup-and-cancel cycles) and keeps the program sustainable. Free plan users can share referral links, but credits activate only when both parties are on a paid plan at the moment the credit fires.

Your Referral Link

Each account gets a unique 8-character referral code. Share via:

  • Copy link — paste anywhere
  • Twitter/X — pre-filled share tweet
  • LinkedIn — professional share
  • Email — direct invite
  • Native share — uses your device's share sheet on mobile

Limits

  • Maximum 5 referrals per account
  • Credit applies after the referred user's second successful payment (both parties must be on paid plans at that moment)
  • Self-referrals are automatically blocked (including email aliases like you+alt@gmail.com)
  • Both users must be on paid plans to receive the credit

FAQ

When do I get credited? After your referred friend's second successful payment (typically ~30–37 days after they subscribe). Both accounts get 30 days of free billing pushed onto their current subscription's trial_end — billing pauses for that window. We'll email you when it fires.

What if the friend signs up but stays on the free demo? No credit is issued. The credit fires only after their second successful payment on a paid plan. If they upgrade later, the clock starts then — there is no expiration on the unused referral.

Can free users refer? Free users can share referral links, but the credit only activates when both parties are on a paid plan at the moment the credit fires (i.e. when your friend's second successful payment lands).

Can I refer myself? No — the system detects and blocks self-referrals via user ID and normalized email matching (so email aliases like you+anything@gmail.com are also caught).

Is there a cap? Yes, maximum 5 referrals per account.

When does my referral credit apply? Your 30 days free billing applies after your friend's second successful payment. This usually means about 30–37 days after they sign up, depending on whether they started with a trial. If your friend cancels before their second renewal, the credit doesn't apply. This protects against fraud and keeps the program sustainable for everyone.

I'm an existing paid user — when does my credit apply if I enter a code in Settings → Referrals? For existing paid users, the credit fires on your next paid invoice (typically your next monthly or annual renewal). The "wait until 2nd payment" rule that applies to brand-new signups is an anti-fraud cooldown for fresh accounts — long-time paying users have already demonstrated commitment, so the credit applies on the next billing cycle. You'll see the status flip from "Pending" to "Credit applied" in Settings → Referrals when it fires, and we'll email you.

I'm on the free / preview plan — can I apply a code now? Yes, you can apply a code at Settings → Referrals even while on free. The code is reserved for you — it sits in your account with a "pending" status. The credit only activates once you upgrade to a paid plan and complete your second successful payment (same as a brand-new signup who applied at signup). If you never upgrade, no credit fires — but the code stays reserved indefinitely, so there's no rush. Free-tier users can also share their own referral link, but the credit only activates when both parties are on paid plans at the moment the credit fires.
